July 14
10:33 a.m., report of missing property at Seacrest Apartments. Subject missing 40-pound concrete leprechaun. Report taken.
11:14 A.M., Paragon Monitoring reports panic alarm at Bandon VA clinic. Alarm company working on alarm. Clinic also called and advised that it was employee error.
2:02 p.m., officer assisting Department of Human Services on home visit. Arrested Brian Blackwell, 34, of Bandon, on a charge of probation violation.
2:32 p.m., report of man taking metal from property without permission. Victim only wanted suspect removed and not charged with any crime.
3:09 p.m., report of small animal in red Mazda with no access to air. Subject afraid dog is too hot. Information relayed to officer.
3:36 p.m., report of dog in silver vehicle with no windows down near Second and Baltimore.
11:46 p.m., report of possible intoxicated driver in Nissan Pathfinder SUV. Not intoxicated. Passenger cited for possession of controlled substance, less than one ounce of marijuana.
2:28 p.m., report of disturbance in 500 block of Ninth Street Southwest. Contacted subject who was sitting outside. He heard nothing. All quiet on officer’s arrival.
9:08 p.m., report of possible intoxicated driver in Honda Civic. Information also to state police.
July 15
9:14 a.m., assisted subject with fuel voucher.
10:10 a.m., Shooting Star Motel requested contact for complaint. Asked man to leave the motel.
10:59 a.m., reporting party of company advised that a call requesting his credit card number to help “lower his interest rates” on his credit cards is a scam. Advised party to also contact DOJ consumer hotline. Logged.
8:03 p.m., report of stray dog, 70-pound white sheep dog, long hair, possibly trimmed, no collar, in 2800 block of Beach Loop. Logged for info. Info passed to animal control.
July 16
8:50 a.m., property manager advises ex-landscaper trespassing on property in 2600 block of Caryll Court. Manager advises he asked the subject to leave. Manager will call if subject returns.
5:49 p.m., report of door open at residence on First Street where reporting party mows lawn. Keys in door. No sign of burglary. Door secured.
July 17
11:21 a.m., Marie A. Thomas, 44, of Bandon, AKA Meleeka Thomas, arrested at Price ‘n’ Pride on charges of second-degree theft, four outstanding warrants and providing false information to the police.
2:07 p.m., report of neighborhood dispute. Reporting party re-called to have officer disregard, he has a doctor appointment, Bandon PD canceled.
9:38 p.m., report of man down, not breathing in 87700 block of Bill Creek Lane. Caller transferred to Bay Cities Ambulance. Assistance rendered.
Coos County Sheriff’s Office
July 15
2:39 p.m., disclosure of possible sexual abuse by biological father, occurred in another county. Report taken at party’s residence. Investigation continuing.
2:44 p.m., mental health provider at Bandon VA clinic requested welfare check on 72-year-old client at Bill Creek Lane who walked out on suicide evaluation. Left about 30 minutes ago with son. Subject not suicidal but “ambivalent.” Logged for info since son was with him and not suicidal.
July 16
4:44 p.m., report of receiving phone threats at residence in 5600 block of Tom Smith Road. Reporting party contacted by phone. Logged for info. Party may bring audio tape of calls to the Sheriff’s Office.
4:32 p.m., Baywatch Security reports audible burglar alarm at residence in 8700 block of Saturn Lane. Logged for information.
July 17
3:37 p.m., report of burglary of residence in 8700 block of Dew Valley Lane. Possibly subject’s ex-wife came into residence and took lamps and other items. Exchange of property to occur on July 19 at her place of business.
July 19
3:57 p.m., state police requested check on disabled vehicle at U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 42S. Assistance rendered.
July 20
9:50 a.m., report of child abuse at Bullards Beach State Park. No evidence of abuse other than out-of-control juvenile. No others in area corroborate report.
8:07 p.m., receipt of incomplete 911 call from 5700 block of Parkersburg Road. No answer on call back. Man gone prior to arrival. Believe woman was assaulted but she is not cooperating. Information regarding resources provided.
10:48 p.m., report by Tidewater Contracting of theft of copper wire from business near Bandon scales. Advised to submit citizen self report.
