Bandon Police officers arrested a man Sunday, June 1, following a report of an assault involving a 13-year-old girl.
According to the Bandon Police Department press log, at approximately 6:26 p.m., officers responded to the report at 820 Southwest Alleghany Ave., to the home of Carol Laufer who reported the girl had been strangled on Saturday. There, they interviewed Laufer and the teenager.
Officers then went to the Gorman Motel, 1110 11th St. S.W., to interview the girl’s mother, Rene J. Campbell and Darren L. House, 38, of Bandon. As a result of the investigation, the officers arrested House on charges of fourth-degree felony domestic assault and strangulation. He was transported to the Coos County jail.
Police charge man with theftBandon Police officers arrested a Klamath Falls man Monday, June 2, on a theft charge.
According to Port Orford Police Chief Mark Creighton, officers responded to 550 Delaware Ave. in Bandon, where they found a 22-foot travel trailer that had been reported stolen in Port Orford the week before. Officers arrested Patrick E. Stout, 41, on a charge of first-degree theft.
He was taken to Curry County jail, where he and held on $25,000 bail.
