Jordan's King Abdullah II enjoys a stroll through Old Town Bandon.
It’s not every day a king comes to town.
But on July 16, Abdullah II, king of Jordan, showed up in Bandon and had coffee and ice cream at Lloyd’s in Old Town. He was accompanied by his 14-year-old son and an entourage of at least 10 men on Harley Davidson motorcycles and another 10 or so in dark green Suburbans
Youth Center opens court
A sturdy wooden fence allowed gusty winds to ease through the court as teen-agers prepared to compete in friendly competition. Nearby, the barbecue smoked and sizzled, ready to cook hamburgers and hot-dogs for hungry players and guests. The cranberry princesses stood by to help prepare the orders.
